| Shell and Tube type Heat Exchanger is used for transferring heat from one
fluid to another. It contains number of tubes enclosed in a close fitting cylindrical
shell. One fluid flows inside and the other flows outside the tubes. These are
very useful when a process requires large quantities of fluid to be heated or
cooled as they provide large amount of heat transfer area and also provide high
degree of heat transfer efficiency. |
